
Education Vision & Ethos
The proposed Academy would raise students’ expectations, build their self-confidence and teach them appropriate skills that allow them to build a successful career and make a contribution to society.
The Academy’s specialisms of English and Engineering & Design would allow teachers to focus on the basic skills of literacy and numeracy, while also allowing opportunities for creativity and intellectual challenge.
The Sponsor and educational partners believe that good education depends crucially on the relationships that are built up between staff, students, parents and other stakeholders. The proposed House system is a great way to encourage integration between the year groups; so new students feel a sense of belonging as well as getting peer support.
Mutual support, pride, ambition, trust and high expectations combine to allow impressive academic achievements against a background of respect for each other and acknowledgement of each other’s contributions.
