New Build
If the proposal is successful, the Academy will open in its present buildings in 2010, with a proposed rebuild on the existing site starting in 2011, and with completion anticipated by 2013.
The Academy will be the first school in Bournemouth to receive substantial investment via the Building Schools for the Future programme, providing some new buildings and facilities that will further enhance the delivery of the Academy vision, ethos and curriculum, allowing our young people to fully realise their potential.
Students and staff have been working closely with technical advisers and architects to develop design ideas that reflect their vision for the Academy and which will support the House system and curriculum model that form part of the Sponsor's vision. In addition, the investment will look to provide a new entrance for the Academy, linking it more closely to the local community and addressing current access and parking problems.
Outline Planning Permission will be sought in the autumn term 2009 and associated documents will be available to view on the Building Schools for the Future website at that time.
