Admissions
The proposal is for an Academy that will admit young people of all abilities, faiths and aptitudes, as its vision is to provide excellent service to the whole of the local community. It is proposed that admission arrangements will remain the same as those for the current Kings High School.
The proposed Academy will comply fully with the School Admissions Code of Practice and the School Admission Appeals Code of Practice, as these apply to maintained schools.
Further information can be obtained by clicking here.
The Academy will employ specialist staff to co-ordinate programmes of support in collaboration with classroom teachers to cater for special educational needs. It will also bring in specialist support from the local authority or other providers as required.
Entry to the Sixth Form will be based on students’ suitability for the courses available. Students in the local area will be given priority, subject to their meeting a minimum level of attainment.
