Proposals are currently in development for a new Academy for north Bournemouth to succeed Kings High school. We want this new Academy to provide the best possible education for students, fantastic new facilities for local residents and a centre for the whole community.
This website has been developed to provide you with information on the proposal as plans develop. We welcome your input and look forward to receiving your comments so we can ensure that the new Academy is an innovative and exciting new school for the young people of north Bournemouth.
Statutory Consultation information
Bournemouth Borough Council, in partnership with the Academy Sponsor, held consultations for staff, parents and the East Howe community between 11 May 2009 and June 26 2009 on the proposal to replace Kings High School with the Academy.
A separate consultation brochure was produced by the Council, which explains how you could find out more and let the Council know your views. A copy can be downloaded from the Bournemouth Borough Council website www.bournemouth.gov.uk or the Building Schools for the Future website www.bsf-bournemouth-poole.co.uk/have_your_say.cfm.
